Maria Sharapova
Tennis is a great place for hot ladies to compete, and the
courts have seen a number of foxy females dominate. One of the most famous is
Russian Maria Sharapova. Sharapova made her professional breakthrough at 17,
beating Serena Williams at Wimbledon, and she's continued to perform at the top
of the scene. When she's not whacking balls at insane speeds, Sharapova has
been signed to model for a number of fashion houses, most notably Cole Haan.
She even got a feature in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Oh, and she's
also the world's highest-paid femae athlete.
Allison Baver
The Pennsylvania-born short track speed skater Allison Baver
won a U.S. National Championship in 2007 and won our hearts with her good looks
and awesome attitude. Speed skating makes competitors wear skin-tight lycra
bodysuits, which are typically not all that flattering, but this hottie makes
it work. She also looks foxy when she's not working, as evidenced by this
picture. Baver came to ice skating through roller skating, having competed in
the National Roller Skating Championships at the young age of 11.
Anastasia Ashley
Surfing is another good sport for hot girls, because they
get to wear bathing suits. One of the foxiest ladies in the surfing scene is
the blonde Anastasia Ashley. After moving with her family to Hawaii at the age
of 5, Anastasia was bit by the surfing bug and started ripping the curl. As one
of a relatively small number of female surfers in the professional world, she
gets a lot of attention. Oh, and the fact that she's hot as hell probably has something
to do with it. Only one downside: she's a vegetarian.
Gina Carano
Yes, MMA is a sport, and no female fighter is as hot as Gina
Carano. When an ex-boyfriend got her interested in Muay Thai, she quickly
developed an aptitude for kicking ass. She started her professional MMA career
in 2006 at World Extreme Fighting and went on to rack up an impressive record
before taking her first loss to Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos in 2009.
She was supposed to return to the cage in 2011 but was pulled from the card for
unknown reasons. She's developed a powerful second career in acting, including
recently starring in Haywire.
Heather Mitts
One of the hottest female soccer players in the world,
Heather Mitts has been winning games since she brought the Florida Gators to
their first NCAA championship in 1998. She went pro in 2000 and was one of the
players in the first season of the Women's United Soccer Association. She's
also a two-time winner at the Olympics. In 2004, ESPN viewers voted her the
hottest female athlete in the world, and the next year she showed the goods in
the Sports Illustrated
Julia Mancuso
Reno-born Julia Mancuso is one of the hottest downhill
skiers in the world. She has three Olympic medals to her credit and a host of
other wins around the world, so you know she's legit. Mancuso started out in
the World Cup at the tender age of 15, but she had a rough life growing up.
When she was five years old, her dad was arrested for operating a $140 million
marijuana smuggling operation. She took all of her rage out on the slopes,
which was probably a good thing. She's also done some lingerie modeling on the
side, which we approve of.
Leryn Franco
We're really going to reach deep into some obscure sports
for the hotties. Are you ready for this? The gorgeous Leryn Franco is a
Paraguayan javelin thrower who has competed since 2001. Her biggest exposure
came at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where sports fans the world over marveled at
her bodacious phsyique and her skill with the pointy rod. When she's not
competing, she works as a model and beauty pageant contestant.
Stephanie Rice
Swimming is a sport that's basically guaranteed to give you
a completely slamming body. One of the hottest female swimmers on the scene
these days is Australian Stephanie Rice. Rice has been competing professionally
since 2007, where she broke the Australian record for the 200m individual
medley. Her career has continued to soar since then, and she currently holds
the world record for the 400m women's individual medley. She's also sporting
three Olympic gold medals.
Yes, ice dancing is considered a sport. Live with it. The
comely Tanith Belbin started skating at the age of three (not uncommon for
Canadians) and ice dancing at eight or nine. She moved to Detroit in 1998 and
met skater Benjamin Agosto, who would become her long-term partner. The pair
found tremendous success, most notably winning a silver medal at the 2006 Turin
olympics, becoming the first American ice dancers to take home a medal in
thirty years. She retired from competition in 2010 but continues to skate in
exhibitions.
Anna Rawson
When you think of golf, you typically don't think of hot
chicks. But there's always an exception, and the lovely Australian Anna Rawson
is one. Rawson first started modeling at the age of 16, but she's not just a
pretty face. She started golfing at around the same time and began to rack up
several major wins. She was a member of the 1999 Australian National Squad,
moved to California for college and turned pro in 2004. In 2008, she qualified
for a full-time LPGA slot and has been impressing us ever since.
Lolo Jones
One of the most heartbreaking moments at the 2008 Beijing
Olympics came courtesy of Lolo Jones. The Iowa-born track and field competitor
was favored to take home the gold in the 100 meter hurdles, but she tripped on
the final jump. Thankfully, the lovely Lolo has rebounded since then, beating
her personal record for the 60m hurdles and performing well all over the world.
She's also worked to help out her hometown, donating significant sums of money
to Iowa charities.
